Everyday it's the same... pick up Jayce from school and ask the same question
"So? How was school today?"
"fine mom"
"Did you do anything fun? What happened at recess?"
"Ummm, I don't remember"
Rarely do I get much more out of him. But today I got an earful without even asking! He was eating his snack after school and it started like this:
"Mom! We read the funniest story today. It was about UNDERWEAR!"
This peaked a bit of interest.
"So there was this noodle, his name was Mr Brown and he bought some underwear and they didn't have the right size and they were this big (shows me with his hands) and guess what? He heard a noise in the tree, and he didn't know what it was, and started throwing apples at it and it was his underwear!"
He BURST into giggles at that point.
I just love hearing when my children are joyful. It's what life is all about. And stories relayed from a 5 year old are priceless.

Your eyebrows are wrong.
I should preface with my original Rhamba moment. I met her while we were both in beauty school, (Rhamba having practiced esthetics for 15 years prior in India) and she introduced herself to me by saying in her very best english "Your eyebrows are wrong" If I could write her accent it would make it all so clear she meant no harm. She just doesn't know how to "pretty up" her words so as to not hurt someones feelings. So, today 5 years later, mom and I went to get our eyebrows threaded by Rhamba. It was so good to see her. Mom laid down and Rhamba showered her with compliments as always. Next, it was my turn. She didn't say much, until she was done and I got up. "You need facial, exfoliation, and mask. Your skin is not good. See your mother's skin? It is so nice. She has glow. You don't." NICE!!! What do you say to that?
Choking at McDonald's
I know the normal response to McDonald's is gagging. But this is actually about choking. Sortof.
I had a few errands to run in town and it was almost time to take Jayce to school. I thought I would take the kids to McD's to eat and play for a while. There is a mom in Jayce's class I have been meaning to intro myself to, and they happened to have the same eating preferences that day. Her name is Bridget, and we talked for over an hour! It was really nice. All of our kids were playing except both of our youngest boys. Jared was helping himself to Bridget's abandoned french fries, when all of the sudden she jumped up and said "He's choking!"
Yup, sure looked that way- red in the face, not breathing. But I knew what that face REALLY meant. He pooped.

Blogaholics Anonymous
I have been smothered by the green eyed monster once again. The poppleton ladies are to blame. I had NO intention of starting a blog. Not even after I saw 3 beautifully made blogs. But alas, the envy of having a blog of my own got the best of me. ha ha. It really has been a nightmare trying to figure out how to get this whole thing started. But I can see the benefits of being able to journal online so easily. So, thank you Shannon, Heather and Rachel for showing me the bloggish light. We will see how long this lasts...
